Trip to GA!!

In July we flew to GA to visit my family. The first half of our trip was just me and the kids while Michael was on a business trip in Germany. Then on his way back he stopped in Atlanta and joined us for the last half of the trip, and then we all flew back to San Francisco together. It was a great trip. It had been 18 months since the last we had been to GA, and even though it was very hot :) we had lots of fun and enjoyed spending so much time with Grandma and Grandpa and Cory and Alicia.

One day we went to the pool at Bogan Park. It is a big indoor pool that has a big water slide and a water playground for little kids. James had a blast playing with Grandpa in the kids area - so much so that he skinned his knees and the tops of his feet from crawling around on the cement bottom of the pool! Kaylyn spent most of the time sitting with Mommy on the side of the pool and enjoying the water from a distance :) She wasn't too fond of sitting in the cold water. hehe

Another day we went to the Yellow River Game Ranch. It's kind of like a small zoo type place, but with mostly local animals. The deer there just walk free around the park and you can feed them. James refused to touch or get very close to these animals as well - as you can see by his screaming in protest when I tried to get him to pet the deer :)

4th of July 2011

Michael had a long weekend off for the 4th of July, so we took the opportunity to have lots of fun together and go to the SF Zoo and the beach at Santa Cruz!

James climbing on a giant hippo statue at the zoo. Michael says he saw one just like it at the hospital where Kaylyn was born. Not sure why they would put one in a hospital.
These ones are from the petting zoo area. This time around James refused to touch the animals. This is about as close as he would get, and all he did was stare them down :)Watching the ducks...James was in such a cute little pose here until we caught him scraping duck poop off the rock he was leaning on...goodness that little boy!

On the 4th, we went to a Sunnyvale city picnic type thing at a park near our apartment. James got his own little American flag and ran around waving it.
We also went to the beach! It was Kaylyn's first time going to the beach. She was not nearly as big of a fan of getting dirty in the sand as James though :) But she still had fun being outside and playing.James helped Daddy dig a big hole :)It was a great, fun weekend!

Happy Birthday James!

On May 8th, James turned 2! For his birthday, we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. James had lots of fun. It was a very kid friendly aquarium, but not very impressive exhibit-wise. But that's ok, we we're there for James anyway. :)
