James is getting used to having Kaylyn around and likes her more now. Every time I put Kaylyn on the floor for tummy time he has to lay down right next to her.

Kaylyn is growing and growing...
...and growing some cute chubby cheeks and extra chins :)

He even gives her kisses :)
And reads her his favorite books :) So cute!

January 2011
In January our family grew from a family of 3 to a family of 4 with the addition of little Kaylyn :)
We were extremely blessed to have Michael's mom here visiting when Kaylyn was born. She was able to stay home with James while we were at the hospital, which made the whole experience a lot easier for James and a lot less stressful for me not having to worry about what to do with him while we were gone.
Staying in the hospital was not nearly as nice the second time around. We had to stay 24 hours after Kaylyn was born because that was hospital policy, so we left right at the 24 hours mark :) We just wanted to get home and be with James and enjoy our new little one.

My parents also came out to visit and help out and, of course, see Kaylyn. It was great to have them here, and we we're glad they could come.

We went to the park while they were here, so James could run around and play.
And Kaylyn just slept all snuggled in the car seat.
We also went to the SF Zoo. They have an awesome kids area with a petting zoo.
Since my parents were out here, we went ahead and blessed Kaylyn on January 23rd, so my dad could be a part of the circle. Kaylyn was only a week and a half old, so her dress was kind of big on her, but that's ok - she was still really cute! :)

Definitely in Need of an Update!
Goodness! I guess 2011 just wasn't the year for blogging :) Well... to make up for it I'm going to try and do some posts over the next few days to be a kind of "2011 Year in Review" type thing. Stay tuned...

Christmas 2010
This year we took James to see Santa. It was a semi-successful trip. We got good pictures, but only of me and James and Santa because James SCREAMED when I tried to leave him alone in Santa's lap :) Oh well, at least the picture turned out well.

James opening and playing with presents on Christmas morning. Like last year we were able to video chat on the web cam with my parents and Michael's mom so they got to see James open presents. Also like last year James is so loved that he got so many presents that he had a meltdown halfway through opening them and had to finish that afternoon :)

Halloween 2010
Here is James - the cutest little lion in the world - at our ward's Trunk or Treat. James had fun at the little pre-trunk or treating carnival. At the beanbag toss booth, Michael threw a beanbag through one of the holes to show James what to do. So James grabbed a beanbag, ran over to the holes, and carefully placed it in the same hole Michael's went through :) heheThen we went outside for Trunk or Treating. I took James around to the different cars while Michael handed out candy at our car. James made it to only three cars before he decided it would be more fun to just run around in circles in the parking lot :) So that's what he did.
These are the pumpkins we carved for Halloween. The first one is mine and the second one is Michael's. I think the turned out pretty good :)

Arts and Crafts Day
We have Park Day on Tuesday, and we go to Music Makers on Friday, so I decided to make Mondays "Arts and Crafts" Day. Here are some of the things we've done.
August 2010
This month my family (Mom, Dad, Cory and Alicia) came to visit. They stayed on our apartment with us, so it was pretty cramped but we loved having them here. We did lots of touristy stuff while they were here - Santa Cruz beach, Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, boat tour of the Bay, Muir Woods... - most of which I hadn't been to yet and we've been here almost a year :) It was a very fun week and we were sad to see them go.
Here are some pictures of our adventures:

This is Alicia standing in the hole James "helped" dig. Every time Alicia scooped out some sand, James threw a handful back in :)
Also, while they were here I had my 20 week ultrasound and we found out we're having a.........
