Well, on Wednesday we found out that IT'S A BOY!!! Everyone thought the baby was going to be a girl, so we went in to the ultrasound expecting it to be a girl, but we were surprised :) Here are some pictures from the ultrasound. We also uploaded the video of the ultrasound to facebook, so those of you that have facebooks can go and watch if you want.
Foot
It's definitely a boy :)
And I'm finally starting to look pregnant.
Me at 20 weeks
Since we finally know it's a boy, I told Michael we had to go buy a baby outfit. It is so cute!
I got a sewing machine for Christmas, so I am going to make a baby quilt out of Michael's old dinosaur sheets from when he was little as my first sewing project. I'll post a picture when it's all finished :)
Sorry we haven't updated in a while, but now there's a lot to write about. We went to GA for two weeks over the break, and it was great! We flew there and of course with my luck with plane rides, something always happens to delay the flight. This time we were about to take off from the Denver airport and the pilot came on the intercom and said, "A plane just ran off the runway, so they've shut down the airport. It will probably be about 3 hours before we can leave." The way he said it seemed like it wasn't that bad and wasn't a very big deal, but we called Michael's sister and got her to look on the internet and find out what happened. What really happened was the plane crashed, then ran off the runway, and caught on fire! I guess the pilot didn't want to tell us that part. Fortunately no one was killed, and they were able to re-route all the planes to take off from the other side of the airport and we were only delayed like an hour and a half. So we finally made it to GA in one piece....well we did; our luggage did not. Because of the bad weather in SaltLake and Denver, they left our luggage in SaltLake so they could put extra fuel on the plane. Luckily, I had packed some clothes in my carry-on, but poor Michael did not bring a carry-on. We got our luggage delivered to use the next day though, so it wasn't too bad.
Well, we had a wonderful 2 week vacation with absolutely no school or work to worry about and no snow!! Ahhh...I was so happy to be 60 - 70 degree weather.
On December 22nd we celebrated our First Anniversary!!! It's hard to believe we've been married for a year. But it's also hard to believe it's only been a year because it feels like we've been together forever. To celebrate, we went out to dinner at O'Charley's. (I LOVE O'Charley's! They have the absolutely best rolls in the entire world!) Since the one year anniversary is the paper anniversary and we already got presents for Christmas, we decided to write a letter to each other. It was really sweet, and I loved it :) That night we also thawed the top of our wedding cake. My parents had been keeping it in their freezer.
The cake was okay. It was edible at least, but definitely freezer burned :) Maybe it would've been better if we had wrapped it up better. We just stuck it in the freezer in a box. But I guess it so much fondant on the outside, that helped preserve it a little :)
We had a great Christmas. Santa came a day early because we were going to be in North Carolina on Christmas, so we opened presents with my family and Alicia and Cory opened presents from Santa on Christmas Eve morning. I was happy to get a lot of maternity clothes because I can no longer fit into my regular pants.
After opening presents, we packed up the car and drove to North Carolina. We spent Christmas Eve with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins from my mom's side of the family, and we spent Christmas day with my dad's side of the family.
It was great to see everyone. Since we got married last December and were in Mexico over Christmas, I hadn't been to North Carolina in 2 years, and Michael had never been. We also got to talk to Christian on Christmas. We just passed the phone around to everybody, so he got to hear a little from everyone. He is doing great. Right now he is down in Cedar City. We're hoping sometime he'll be transferred up here near us so we can have him over for dinner or something.
On New Year’s Eve, we went over to the Galvez’s (good friends of ours from church) house for a little party. We had lots of good food and spent most of the night talking and playing Rock Band as we awaited the coming of the New Year :)
We also went to the Aquarium again because Alicia hadn't been yet. So now we've gone the Aquarium every trip to GA. It has become tradition :)
Then we had to come back to school and the horrible, awful, cold, freezing snow….
